EcoPoly™ Material
Ecopoly™ is the brand name for the recycled materials our Trimfinity® mouldings are engineered with. The specific recycled material is known across the industry as 'Expanded Polystyrene' or EPS. See our material comparison chart for common industry options.
EPS Creation
Expanded polystyrene is made from recycled polystyrene beads that are heated, foamed, inserted into pre-shaped dies, and then cooled. The result is a strong, rigid, and lightweight material that has many advantageous physical properties.
EPS Advantages
Polystyrene is very resistant to mold, bacteria & mildew, and does not attract insects. The main advantage of Polystyrene is its incredible resistance to moisture. This is also known as non-hygroscopic to water vapor due to its closed cell structure. It is also an excellent insulator due to its high thermal resistance (R-value).
Density & Strength
The final density of our EPS mouldings is controlled by the level that the polystyrene beads are allowed to expand before being molded to shape. While the various densities of polystyrene share similar properties, our propretairy formulation can withstand greater forces before deforming or breaking making Trimfinity® the ideal choice for your moulding needs.
